They had these out since beginning of December already, at least for DH and SG, for GS and SL were out sometime in January. And new men GS skis actually feel even a bit easier to handle then last years model, so they are actually pretty cool boards... but much uglier then with last years design

Oski tried the SL out in Bormio during February and like them a lot - I had difficulty persuading him to give them back and we've already order them (and a GS pair) for next season via the sponsorship deal which Rossignol did with Snowsport England.

To be fair, the race boots are better looking this year.

I won't say anything about naming these things, but thing is, development of 35m GS skis in last 3 years made huge steps. First 35m ski I have been skiing (in time when 35m skis were just prototypes and FIS regulation was still on 27m), it was basically copy of that time current 27m GS with longer radius and 10cm extra on ski, which meant it was basically impossible to turn in on 20-25m course setting, and even with free skiing, you could feel pretty big difference. Next year's (first year when 35m regulation was in play), skis were pretty much normally skiable and you couldn't feel that huge difference between 27m ski and 35m ski on same course, as you did with 35m prototypes year before. Last season's 35m skis feel basically same as 27m ski, even on course, while on free skiing, you really don't feel difference at all. With this new Rossi (officially next season's model), things got even easier. So some fancy name or not, skis, at least GS, did made big steps forward in last few years.

Would it be fair to say that the difference between GS skis from different brands is larger than the difference between different SL skis for example? Sounds like a lot of innovation going on in the GS world.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

jogi, wasn't talking about the ski, just the branding. I generally like Rossi race skis, and wouldn't normally get aerated about marketing, but not impressed with this stuff.

JamesHJ, I wouldn't say so. There are differences between SL skis between companies, just as well in GS, SG and DH. It's hard to say differences are bigger in GS then in SL, as there's still not that huge difference between let's say Rossignol or Head or Fischer, but there are differences.
under a new name, I agree about this, but that marketing crap and fancy naming for obvious things is present everywhere, not just with Rossi and not just with skis
