Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Zermatt-should have a decent amount of skiing open, including over to Cervinia. Pricey but gorgeous!

yorkshirelad, I was in L2A and AdH in the second week of December last year, with excellent piste conditions (very little in the towns though, but that's good I think). Blue skies and sunshine too Very Happy

under a new name, er...yes - there is the glacier. Anyway the OP asked about "fairly snow sure" not guaranteed. I have been to Tignes the first week in December for years - I have had too much snow more often than too little - it's a real risk at that time of year as I'm sure you know.

yorkshirelad, If you are going DIY and not through a tour operator, book your flight early (whilst it is cheap) to Geneva / Turin / Friedrichshafen / Munich and wait to see where the snow looks good before arranging your accommodation the week before you go. Hire a car to get to resort.
If you are using a TO rather than DIY, book your holiday off work and then wait until the week before you go to see where the snow looks good and see what last minute deals are on offer.

Will be doing DIY..not many TO run ski hoiidays till the 13th December, did my own DIY once to Solden, but flight got delayed, then changed to Munich so by the time i got to orgianl airport my pre-booked taxi had gone and i got charged for it Sad
did obergurgle on a DIY as well for Xmas a few years ago, great time then, not many bars open during the day at that time of year though...
Since then i've had two seperate days skiing there and realised how small it was, all easily done in the day, so not in a hurry to go back.

holidayloverxx, I know there's a glacier... but if that's all you have, it's a bit limited. And full of snotty nosed kids in catsuits.

In principle, sure, Tignes should be a good bet, but nothing's 100% is it...
