Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just back from Tignes 1800, stayed at the new
luxury
Residence Kalinda. The good: Nice big pool, sauna, gym & steam room. Nicely finished apartments with good level of equipment. Good supermarket, 2 ski shops & a boulangerie. The not so good: whoever designed the ski rooms has I presume never gone skiing! Exit through 3 doors to the lift where you are directed to floor 1 before having to clump along the corridor to some doors that exited onto a courtyard that was never cleared of snow before having to go down some steep ice covered steps & then walking 50m to top of a slope. We ignored the signs & exited the lift at ground floor & walked out the front door & then around to the back. Our apartment was located above the supermarket which enabled us to check that the freezers were running OK during the night. Did a big shop for the week after arrival, discovered next day that the freezer didn't work & the frozen food was not!
They fitted a new one within a couple of hours, then found the TV didn't work, only took them 45 minutes to change that. We also managed to get trapped in the lift when it failed, fast response to that one as well.
We ate out one night & had a superb evening meal at La Bouida restaurant in Les Brevieres, definitely
recommended!
Skiing was great after the first days big dump, loads of fresh snow & sun
Not skied Tignes before & enjoyed it although it would be hard to describe it as attractive! It's looks are overcome by the extensive range of skiing though.
Surprised at how nice Val D'Isere was, nice little traditional streets & a good range of shops & bars etc. Now to start planning next seasons trips
