Line Sick Day 95 Sizing.

I have recently bought a new pair of line sick day 95 skis, to replace a pair of Blizzard Bushwackers which felt a little too short (I think) at 166cm. I wanted something a bit more burly which would bust through crud and chopped snow and float a little better.

The Sick Days I have bought are the 173cm version, but I am now thinking that I should have gone for the 178cm. The contact length on hard snow is very similar to that of the Blizzard, due to the Sick Day having tail rocker.

I am 173cm tall with no shoes on (I'm not sure whether you are to take height with boots or without) and weigh 68kg. I am an intermediate skier and am progressing quickly. I'd say that I am a level 5-6 at the moment, and spend my time 50/50 on piste/off piste.

Do you guys think I will be okay with the 173, or should I have chosen the 178?

I have just measured both sets of skis, the Blizzards actually measure 164cm, and the Lines 168cm. Quite a difference to what they are claimed to be.

Note to add; I am getting stronger off-piste and would like to spend more time doing this in future. If this changes anything!

Really depends on what/how you prefer to ski. Obviously the shorter ski will be more maneuverable and easier to turn so it could be good fun in skiing trees etc. If you want to be charging crud and bumps then a longer ski would generally give better stability but stiffness of ski should also be considered if this was what the ski was bought to do. That and any ski that has rockered tips/tails will ski like a shorter ski so you may have been better with the longer ski. I've not skied the sick days but i hear good things about them. Think you'll be fine with them.
