Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boot sole length question

I had my new ski boots fitted today at Profeet in London (I was lucky enough to win them through a Mark Warner competition, super-chuffed!).

My new boots are 2mm shorter than my old ones. I've tested them on my skis and they clip in just fine and appear to be exactly the same.

Should I get the bindings adjusted slightly or will they be OK? They're drilled but I assume there's a little bit of adjustment in them.

HoneyBunny, You need to get the forward pressure adjustment correct. There should be no problem with a 2mm change but there may be some adjustment for the forward pressure. What bindings are they? There will be an indicator that shows whether it's correct when the boot is clipped in.

I will get the ski shop to check them when I get to Val later this month.
