Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Slight knee niggle

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I seem to have picked up a knee niggle. I first noticed it a few months ago, and I think it was caused by cycling. It was a little tender for a week or so in certain positions but nothing particularly painful. There wasn't any swelling.
I haven't really cycled much yet this year, but do run on the treadmill. Normally cover 5-10k and have no issues with it whatsoever.

The only time it bothers me is when I squat, so my legs are completely bent but knees aren't touching the floor. while I'm squatting there isn't any pain but when I stand up it feels a bit painful, like I cant really put any weight on it. it usually sorts its self out in a couple of minutes, or more quickly if I stretch out (hamsting/calf).

I don't think its that serious but its been that way for a few months now, so I thought I would see what you guys thought?

Thanks!

My knees have been like that for over half a century. they've not got any worse, though. wink

I have an old mcl injury which has now been in a bitg of a flare up since November. I can ski with it but need a couple of days off after about a week on the planks. It's more stiff and painful when not skiing to be honest Laughing

I picked up an extra knee problem after cycling for a few months. This was sorted after I bought a foam roller and started rolling on the sides and tops of my thighs. I think I was told it was the IT band tightening which was causing problems and is common with cyclists.

gixxerniknik, a lot of niggles can be solved if you can locate the trigger points causing the problem - I have a v good book which has solved lots of problems for me and others.
