Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wheelie ski bag under 3kgs?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello All,

I know lots of people have asked about this before and I have gone through the different threads but I haven't got an answer. I am looking to get a wheelie bag, that will take my Preachers (180 but think I will move to 189 shortly/) my boots, avi gear and ABS bag that hopefully weighs less than 3kgs. Additionally, I would like it to have internal straps and pockets and external straps on carry handles on the lid of the bag. OK - so I admit I am being very specific and may have to compromise on some of these, bit I am willing to do this to get the right bag.

Any and all thoughts would be great as I really need to order this by tomorrow.

Thanks

It's not cheap but I've been very happy with my Douchebag http://m.edgeandwax.co.uk/743686/products/douchebag-ski-and-snowboard-bag-in-black.aspx only 3.4kg
Not much in the way of internal straps, though I've not found that to be a problem.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

+1 for the Douchebag. Best bag I have ever had!

Touchguru, thanks for the info. Was pretty keen to avoid is due to cost but definitely want to get it right this time. Old bag is knackered and just too heavy.

This comes in at 2.7kg - it's fairly simple but does the job for me! I imagine it's towards the cheaper end of the spectrum too...

Don't buy S&R own double wheely bag. Mine lasted a full single MAN- MUC trip, ripped as I lifted it off baggage belt at MUC, very poor quality. Looked on their reviews and I clearly wasn't the first. Why sell them?

Anyway refund pocketed and now going to buy Douchbag if I see one in a sale (hint!) wink

I've got one of these. It says 195cm here, but Mrs M's XC skis are 197 and they fit OK. I think it weights in about 4kg, but it is certainly a good bag. Plenty of room for my skis & boots and Mrs M's as well. That and a few items of clothing takes it up to the BA 23kg limit.
