Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

12th April - Flaine? Or Les Coches?

 Poster: A snowHead

Making our mid April trip to France flying into chambery was wondering whether it was worth going to flaine or les coches.. My wife is a non skier, so need some other activities, day trip options close by.

Any Thoughts?

I much prefer the skiing in Flaine (Grand Massif) to La Plagne so I'd go there. Neither would be ideal for your wife in terms of day trips. In Flaine she would be able to get the DMC gondola to meet you in the café at the top from where there are fabulous views of Mont Blanc. If you stayed in the higher category accommodation eg. Le Centaure your wife would have a nice spa, pool etc. However I don't think the pool would be open all day.
If you hired a car your wife would be able to drive to Chamonix, Saint Gervais or Annecy fairly easily for a day trip - I think any of them would be an hour's drive. However it is a bit of a windy road up and down so I probably wouldn't want to do it too many times during the week. Annecy is very good for shopping Toofy Grin and the old town is very nice.
