Poster: A snowHead

Considering a visit to the above with a pal and looking for feedback.
Two mid forties blokes, tidy skiers, like a bit of a challenge and to knock out the miles.
Busy apres would be a bonus.
Suitable????
Cheers.

It ticks all your boxes , Apres is good and lively , you can get lots of miles under your belt with the odd challenge here and there.

The apres in Saalbach is top class. Not sure if you will find it challenging though. We did pretty much every run twice over 6 days and found v few tough. Nice cruising but little to challenge bar the lower section of 13a, which was interesting!!! Would go there for the apres, but not if covering lots of miles on different pistes is your thing.

Any reports on current snow conditions or predictions for mid March?

It snowed most of yesterday (Sat 22nd Feb) and it was cold this morning and warm this afternoon. Plenty of excellent skiing above the mid-stations (so approx 90% of the pistes) and getting soft below.
Mid-March? : Based on previous seasons there might be over a metre of new snow - or there might not be.

So where would you pick to stay to be best positioned for the above (minimal walking) ski in ski out if possible in mid March?
Half board twin room

You know it makes sense.

bigpea, have a look at the Koenig. With reasonable conditions you can ski to the back door with just a minor road to cross (can ski over in decent conditions ). Also possible to take a beginners drag up the hill and walk across hill directly to the main lift area. Great food, nice bar, decent bedrooms and bathrooms, great service.
Trip report here. There was so much fresh snow that kept falling that conditions were often challenging to ideal - never dull, never repetitive.
Even if you can't ski in/out were conditions not up to it, it is still a great place to stay IMV.
