Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Arcteryx repairs - any recent experience?

 Poster: A snowHead

My marvellous Arcteryx Stinger jacket, now way out of warranty, is in need of repair. The material has started to separate from the waterproof zip surround on the upper arm pocket and the materials beneath are exposed. I contacted Arcteryx Customer Services who told me I needed to complete some stuff on-line then send the jacket to their European repair centre in Switzerland.

I've trawled through previous posts on here on this topic but I can't find anything more recent than 2011 - which, to be fair, was a favourable experience of the repair process. So, here's my question ... does anyone on here have any recent experince of sending items out to Arcteryx in Switzerland?

No experience of having to have a repair on any of my Arc' kit but IIRC they have a lifetime warranty so you just have to pay the postage to send it to them. They're noted for their excellent customer service so I'd have no worries about it.

No such thing as out of warranty as such as far as I understood. As mentioned above, very good customer service.
Arcteryx are currently repairing my >10 year old very well used sidewinder (at their suggestion - I was going to buy a new one!!). They had no issues with fixing all the things that had gone wrong (zip leaking a bit and a pocket going a bit weird).
Handily Arcteryx are based in N. Vancouver which makes it a little more straightforward. Just took it in, a week later they rang me back to let me know their assessment and what they are doing. They are super busy so it's going to take a few weeks to get fixed, but I'm fine with that.

I sent my leaky pants to the Swiss centre over the summer and they came back quickly, all fixed for the cost of the postage.

^^This - but try contacting the guys at www.bigstone.co.uk as they were, and probably still are the UK agents for Arc'teryx. They sorted my warranty issue, rather than me sending it to Switzerland. I believe they sent it and had it returned to them, before posting out. All I paid for was the Uk postage to them. At least one of them is a skier Madeye-Smiley

As above, Bigstone sorted me out. Now my Sabre jacket has split and frayed along the bottom tightening cord, so it will be off soon.

I had two items sent to be repaired by the swiss centre in the last year or so, one came back very quickly and the other was deemed not to be repairable and after a few emails to canada I got a replacement FOC. Fab service...

Thanks for all the helpful advice ... makes me feel even better about buying Arcteryx kit. My jacket will be sent off for repair as soon as I get back from Sainte-Foy at the end of March.
