Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

All they need now is crowds!

Just watched the slope style and there's hardly anyone there watching it!

shame.

Can't be helping the USA is talking up the security risk even more than it did for London.

shoogly, I'm sure the crowds will increase when the opening ceremony has passed and the games start 'for real'. I don't think the USA talking up the security risk is going to make much difference. I think the main deterrents are the fact that Russia is unusually 'foreign' and logistically it is a bit of a pig to get to.

In the slopestyle does everyone qualify for the next round if they don't go direct to final? When media announce such and such has made semi-final doesn't mean they have done anything really? One of the women who must have been injured just cruised the course, I suppose to make next round.

Is the BBC the only place I can watch the games? Anyone know who else is broadcasting it? The BBC haven't got a clue and are unlikely to do a good job of it!!!!!!! Sad

BBC are a damn sight better than NBC in the US. As long as they have all the hockey games on the red button and evening full replays of the skiing I'll be happy.

I genuinely think Britian is doing extremely well as we are the Land of No snow? Unfortunately our top slope styler for the men's can't take part due to "judging errors" in his last world cup, still for 17 he's excellent and may really show the worl what we are capable of in 2018!

You are confusing England with Britain. There are several ski resorts in GB. None in England

I like the fact that they ran the snowboarding slope style yesterday, put some people through without elliminating anyone, and then they give everyone else another chance.

They are essentially running the qualifiers twice, which proves that the snowboarding slopestyle is the best, the one that people want to watch the most Very Happy

no skiing yet i see Wink

An update from Emma Carrick-Anderson who is commentating for the BBC;

Quote:
Holy smokes! Just back from the inspections of both mens and womens DH. Wow, the mens is unbelievable. Even Graham who did the film run said it was BRUTAL, bumpy, unbelievably icy and soooo steep. This is one serious DH and Bode Miller loves it! The womens is great too but not quite as iced up. Although not quite as dramatic, there are still some amazing parts with awesome names like Launch pad and Devils spine. Not doing any BBC till Sunday though. So enjoy the opening ceremony and get ready for some seriously crazy speed action. My children are DEFINITELY not ever doing Downhill!!!

Really enjoyed the boarding slopestyle yesterday. Blimey, how bl00dy brave are they? The mens tricks were far more impressive than the women's, but the commentators say the women only perform when they have to.

The commentary style was unique to say the lest, they should get nominated for a comedy BAFTA snowHead

How about Yad Moss? With 120m of vertical and 1/2 a mile of piste what's not to like? (apart from the absence of snow)

So, I go of an evening to the BBC to watch the best bits of the days skiing - and there's not much to see. Is that right? There are one-line updates, and a few clips but not many videos. Am I looking for skiing in all the wrong places?
