Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The two time Olympic champion, Hermann Maier, announced his retirement yesterday. This was despite having started his winter training only last week. he was pretty cut up about it on the telly. I think I'll watch a bit less skiing from now on - I loved tuning in to see him charge down the hill, nobody came close to his style for me (mabye Cuche?).

His auto-biography was a great read (maybe will be updated to take in his retirement run-up now), especially around his long recovery from the bike smash - it's amazing that he's even walking about!

On a more depressing note, I'm a year younger than him, which means there's only one year left for me to emulate the Hermanator!!! Shocked Laughing

Last time they had a guy on Wetten Dass jump cars he ended up paraplegic.
They don't do that any more.
