Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Atomic Infamous all mountain use...

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi guys,

I’m looking at buying a pair of Atomic Infamous 176cm skis with Atomic XTE 10++ bindings (DIN3-10). I’m 180cm and 80kg. I’d say I’m probably a confident intermediate skier, I have skied since I was young but only in Scotland! So in that context last week I spent the morning on black runs with a lot of ice and had no issues. I used to ski an old pair of Rossignol 165cms when I was a teenager (early 20s now!), and have hired skis since. In other words I have not paid a great attention to what I’ve previously skied.
I’m looking for a playful ski as I like to mess around on any terrain, ski switch and go for jumps etc. I am not a park skier by any means though. I’m wondering how suitable this ski will be for me? I have read that it is a relatively “soft” ski but reasonably forgiving. I’m thinking that this ski wouldn’t be so great for skiing fast / hard on piste… any others issues for general use?

Also… DIN 3-10 going to be enough?

Cheers

rholligan, welcome to Snowheads snowHead

The general advice for buying ski's would be to try before you buy. Sure you can get a general idea of how it ski's on here but even if it sounds like the ski for you, you may hate it.

My friends uses them as an everyday teaching ski and has been very happy with them for everyday use.
