Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best location for offpiste in the Dolomites?

My wife and I had such a great time last year that we are coming back to ride in Europe again this year. Last year we chased the snow to St. Anton, then Selva, then Chamonix. As of right now, we have a flight booked to Geneva arriving on Feb 2- Feb 9th, and a rental car for that period. As of right now, it seems like the best snow is in the Dolomites? Or maybe Courmayeur? I know the drive from GVA to Selva is long, but I don't mind how long the drive is to chase good snow!

So, we really enjoyed Selva last year, but would somewhere like Arabba or Corvara be a better base than Selva for some guided off piste skiing? Since the date is approaching, I am wanting to try and get a handle on where we are going to head and what hotel/B&B we will stay at.

How is La Grave doing for snow? We'd really like to ride there, but I am having a hard time getting a good idea of snow there.

a2thak, in the Dolomites I'd say that Arabba is the best location for most offpiste routes (ie close or direct access in several directions).

I haven't followed the snow closely enough to give recommendations of other areas vs Dolomites. From what I hear (haven't skied there) Alagna and Gressoney are great with good snow cover (which doesn't happen THAT often). Courmayeur is beautiful too and has great offpiste terrain, I still prefer the Dolomites but as a different destination I'm sure you'd like it.

Enjoy!
