Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

It's hard enough to predict the weather for next month, let alone next year!!! Smile But it's generally got a very good snow record for that time of year, and has a lot of snow cannons so are generally very good at making snow if they're a little thin. I think it's a pretty safe bet.

Andorra is doing very well snow-wise- in fact, the Pyrenees seems to be doing much better than the Alps so far this season.

I went to Andorra a couple of years ago at the start of March and there was plenty of snow. Smile

I have been to Pas de la Casa three times now and the snow has been great every time. Last year we went end of Jan and will be the same this year, and if anything the snow was too heavy last year. Have a good holiday!!

Em1986, I'd say failing a nuclear explosion in the area, you'll be fine. The snowmaking in Grandvalira is top notch so even if the real stuff is patchy, almost all of the resort will be open at that time of year.

February is usually great, and this year is shaping up well having just had another 15-20cm and more forecast for later this week.

Thinking of this for next year, snow record looks better in March than Feb from what I have read online as well...

Hi Em1986, obviously there is no guarantee of anything when it comes to predicting snowfall but you'll be fine going in March - although I'd suggest early March to be sure (I think we went in the first week of March). I remember reading that the Pyrenees tends to get more spring snow than the alps but I'm not sure how true that is. I remember the year we went that they had a huge dump in early April so conditions were better in April than they were in Jan.

But like I say, there's no guaranteeing anything and it could easily be the other way round. The only thing you can do to be certain is to book late.

That's right, March is typically the best month for snowfall in the Pyrenees, and of course it tends to be sunnier and warmer then. Best month of the season, in my opinion!

And it's been a great season so far.. let's hope it keeps it up until May!

I have posted seperately but thought id ask on here also as to whether anyone has any recommendations on where to stay in Soldeu?
Thinking piolets or piolets park & spa?

Likely to be myself and partner.. his parents and 2 brothers... his parents will spend some time in the hotel so somewhere not just a room... easy walking to get around as they like walking...

For us we just want nice food... and a bed.. !! Laughing

Piolets is right in the centre and is the older of the two, Piolets Park & Spa is a five minute walk to the centre but newer and more comfortable. Both are good options but I'd probably choose the Park & Spa from those two.

Thank you for your reply.. since asking I have been looking at the sport Hotel Village which is coming in only around £300 for two so I am thinking that its worth it possibly? Has anyone stayed there? Happy

Sport Village is a lovely hotel - very traditional, wooden inside, right by the gondola, great views of the slopes.
