Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

5 inches of snow according to news this morning! Ridiculous that two counties can grind to a halt due to a measely 5". Accept that they're not used to it down there but still, I've driven into and out of ski resorts following several feet with no problems

Boris,
Bit of an exaduration dont you think 2 counties grinding to a halt .yes there was 5" here and the roads were a bit dodgy but that in my opinion makes the driving more fun ,i think i do remember not so long ago a moterway up in the south east that was blocked for some considerable time due to a few inches of snow, off to do some skiing now . snowHead

pistenbully, ok maybe a slight exageration, but still a major road (only road!) being shut is ridiculous. Re the news report for Kent last year, I recall it well as I was stuck in it for 4 hours to do 10 miles on the A20 due to drifts of 3 inches. Of course they'd shut the M20 to park lorries on! Ironically I was going to Eurotunnel to go skiing, of course the roads were clear in France.

It was the M11 which was shut for 11 hours due to a bit of snow.#

Read in the local paper today that the county council have just completed a huge excercise to see how they would cope with a chemical fire. With this sort of planning its amazing that winter still surprises them each year rolling eyes

Enjoy the skiing, completely green in the midlands so I'll have to make do with playing hockey today
