Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Word of caution for Three customers using Euro data pass.

Guys,

If you, like me, use the Three network you may know that you can buy a Euro data pass for £5 a day for unlimited data. I quite like this as I'm quite an avid iPhone user, always online and i use it to stream uk radio in france.
On landing at GVA i immediately bought the pass from the SMS i received and started streaming Absolute 80's on the transfer coach. But by the time i had reached Cluses i had a text from Three saying i had already spent £10 on data! WTF.

Anyway after a little digging i found that the pass is not valid in Switzerland. But i was in france??? Not so, my phone had latched on to Orange CH and not Orange FR.

So on landing you all need to change your carrier settings to manual and choose a french network before using data.

Doesn't work in Norway either- not in the EU...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Same might be true for the o2 data roaming for €1.99/day (or £1.99/day for UK customers). Think it's an EU thing, but could be wrong.

On a similar note, those fancy new V-Pay chip+PIN only (no magstripe) debit cards (like Maestro but on Visa Europe network), are also not usable in Switzerland, apparently. "A new debit card for Europe" is what is plastered all over the website and bumpf, for "paying in Europe". Doesn't give any hints whatsoever that by "Europe" they mean some, but not all of Europe.

This used to happen years ago when users in Kent used to pick up French mobile signals. Hence why the advice re using manual search for networks is always best.
