I hope someone can help. Arrive on Friday 14th Feb and my 2 girls do not start ski school until the Sunday so looking for a ski guide for best blue runs in the Avoriaz area to get our ski legs. I am a reasonable skier and oldest girl is almost parallel skier and youngest still snow ploughing so where should we head for??? Last couple of years skied in La Plagne so they are used to motorway skiing!! Cheers

Super Morzine area first day, to find the legs. Then Arare, Chavanette, Lindarets, Mossette if good weather, to feel you covered some distance.

I agree with the above - the blues that ski school start with are Proclou/Tetras (down to Super Morzine) then Prolays (down to Lindarets). The other blues I did in ski school were Combe a Floret and Grand Plan (also down to Lindarets). Grand Plan is the hardest of these - the others were all fine once I could snowplough competently.

Linderets is generally quieter I believe than Proclou due to the ski schools. All the Linderets blues must have been easy as we skied them! Good option for later in the week is to head up Pleney, into the Les Gets bowl, over to Nyon, and then up Fys lift and down Piste B into Morzine town.
The blue down from the top of the Troncs lift down to the Fys (as part of the above) was our favorite run all week.

On the first run don't bring them down the final leg of Zore towards Supermorzine as it is a little bit harder than the easier run off to the right - take Tetras from where Tetras and Zore meet. I brought a few first-week beginners last year and they were not impressed! Children may be much easier to coax down though.

ok, super bored, so here you go if you have a good piste map:
Take TSD tour. Follow Crete down to the main intersection and then follow Combe a Floret. After the sharp right, take the left turn down to Parchets. As you join Parchets, you are looking dead at La Ferme, the aforementioned bar. Take Parchets down to the Ardent bubble.
That for me was the nicest blue combo on that side of Avoriaz, as it didn't terminate in the Brochaux/Linderets plateaux. Was quiet too compared to the other blues like Mosette and Prolays.
To extend my above re Morzine side:
Take TSD tour onto Crete, then onto Proclou. This (and I think some of these may have changed slightly this season) takes you into TSF Serraussaix, Tetras, and then down the S-M lift. Walk across town, its not as bad a walk as everyone makes out.
Take the new Pleney bubble, then a short skate to TS Belvedere. Take Crocus into Bruyere. As you near Les Gets, stay right as if heading to TK Stade. Before you drop off the plateaux, there is a great bar on the right for lunch (Pam will no doubt know the name).
Take the Chavannes Express and then the Violette piste, then the ranfolly express and take a look at Mont Blanc which you should be able to see from there. Take Gentiane into Choucas, then the Troncs express to take the Raverettes piste into Lievre (keep left to take Lievre). When you see the bridge and the Pre Favre lift, stay left and walk up to the Fys lift. Take this lift, and then take piste N into Piste B, down into Morzine town.
The take the S-M lift up and head back to Avoriaz via TSD Zore, Serraussaix, and TSD Proclou.
That to me sounds like blue run heaven!! Oh, and yes, Im sad.
