Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ischgl to Chamonix

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all, i need to get from Ischgl to Chamonix on 23 January 2014. Going by rail from Landeck-Zams to Chamonix will take 4 or 5 change overs train/bus and it appears i need to book each leg separately. Has anyone done this journey before. Am i missing an obvious easy option. Is anyone driving and willing to offer a lift?

You'll need a bus to Landeck then change train at Zurich, at Geneva you could get a transfer I imagine. Can't see how you can do it in less than four hops. The train journey is pleasant with plenty of scenery to watch from the window. Have you tried booking through OBB?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for the tip on OBB, seems easier to navigate then the swiss version.

PP, geneva to Cham ought to be easy and quick but is not at all. Better to get a transfer or bus.

PP, consider a change in Lausanne and a train via Martigny? That said, I was boing to do Bern-Cham just before Xmas but the timetable changed making it a royal pita.
