Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Getting to Schladming from Salzburg Airport

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I just booked a last minute trip to Schladming but have become a bit confused by the travel arrangements as I have only got until the morning to work it out. Anyone have any recommendations for which way is the best/cheapest? Train or bus and what numbers to get etc...? Thanks in advance

jdean299, Welcome to Snowheads.

Re transfers see http://www.salzburg-airport.com/en/passengers-visitors/arrival-parking/bus-train-taxi/taxi-transfer-service-2014/

You may be too late to book online, but call the various companies (e.g Taxi Jager or Taxi Shuttle Erlbacher) and see what they say. If there is a available seat, you might also be able to get on at the airport by finding the driver and paying cash.

Or see the Tourist Office website - http://www.schladming-dachstein.at/en/service/getting-here

This page has access to the train info service from OEBB, so you can see train times from Salzburg to Schladming. You'll need a bus/trolleybus from outside the airport (by the multi-storey car park) to Salzburg Station.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

jdean299, Bus line 2 (2 euro 40) to Salzburg train station. Then train to Schladming (approx 18 euro). 20 min on bus and 1h 30 m on train. Enjoy.

Good lads, I should be able to work with that on this short notice. Cheers

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Train is fine, done it a couple of times. Ask at the airport which bus if you get confused. I'd transfer by taxi if there are 4 of you or more. Less than that train makes more sense.
