Poster: A snowHead

Has anybody spent Christmas week with Esprit? What was it like? Do they do anything special for the kids? I have just got their preview brochure and out of all school holiday weeks that is the cheapest though hubby is very anti Christmas away from home, so would like to hear what it is like to try and convince him.....
Thanks

Unless you have a time machine, I fear you may be a little late

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

provenjohn, I expect NickyJ is looking for a holiday for Christmas 2014. Makes sense - it might take a long time to persuade her OH!

Yep exactly PamW - preview brochure is next seasons. Also from past experience you can leave it too late to get cheaper options with Esprit. I am also thinking that anybody who went with them this season over christmast will be getting back home this weekend, so hopefully a good time to ask the question.

hi there
did it once before , will probably have to do it 2014 , with the new rules re kids out of school
too late for us this year so its unauthorised absence ( we did book in jan2013 )
its great fun, they lay on xmas dinner as you expect, the resort was also a bit more xmassy - it had a santa ride and stuff
the lifts are very civil - got offered hot toddys all over the place ( too many of then and you can ski like a pro all over the place
except for straight down the mountain
benefits , are fresh air, no masses of presents to sort out , no relatives - etc
more importantly ( our son was 6 at the time ) - it snowed on xmas day - which he has NEVER forgotten

The Esprit children staying in some of the apartments in our chalet this Xmas appeared to have a good time. They were singing jingle bells very loudly as they met in the morning and from the attitude of the staff I spoke to they were certainly trying to make it a special occasion for the youngsters.
Arc 2000, like just about every ski resort I have been at, puts on a special entertainment on Xmas eve usually around 6pm. Santa arrives on a sled escorted down the mountain by torchlight (the local ski instructors) to a fanfare of music and fireworks. There is vin chaud and hot chocolate whilst you watch and Pere Noel distributes sweeties or other small presents.
