Cannot find an existing snow report thread for Grimentz Zinal and, on the basis that the publicity the new telecabine has garnered will draw more UK skiers, will post this week and see how we go.
40 to 50 cm fell this week gone in Grimentz. Conditions off Piste are mixed (level 3 per Slf.ch). It has snowed at 1600 metres since 1830 tonight, easing off now. Wind is light at base station level currently.

bluesky day in Grimentz. Minus 10 ish at 2800 metres. No wind. Off piste DA 3. Lona 2 closed and with signs of this week gone's slips not covered (via SMS)

chrisJersey, jan 11. To do off-piste. But tbh quite nervous about avalanche situation. How bad are things there at the moment? Are there a lot of less risky alternative routes? Have never been so no familiarity with place at all.

Snowed this morning (approx 10 cm at 2800 metres). Snow stopped at lunchtime and currently powder conditions under blue skies and with no queues. More snow forecast. (via SMS)

5cm new snow overnight on top of the 10cm ish the previous day makes for good skiing on and off piste. (DA is still 3). Too early to repair the bases yet though. (via SMS)

Great skiing in Grimentz and Zinal last few days. Pistes are in excellent condition and between pistes / side of piste actually quite good. Have not ventured far as of yet into backcountry but snow forecast for tonight so hopefully that will be on cards over next few days. Only downside is chamois piste remains closed and opening of cable car between grimentz and zinal again delayed. However am sure will be all sorted and in good nick for anyone coming in February

Fantastic conditions in zinal grimentz today and yesterday though visibility not always the best. Still so much untracked powder. Awaiting tonight's snowfall in anticipation of epic day tomorrow
