Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chamonix Guide

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi Everyone Smile

I am in Chamonix next weekend 4/5th Jan just for those 2 days, can anyone recommend a guide or company to go through for some off-piste skiing if conditions stay fresh!
Or if anyone wants to to show me around a bit that would be great Very Happy I am coming up with a few friends but they are just starting out.

Thanks,

Andy

Id recommend speaking to Alison Culshaw for instruction in all things off piste. Might be late to book on to one of her courses though. http://www.offpiste.org.uk

Try Jonny Baird - http://www.jonathan-baird.com/, Rob Jarvis - http://www.highmountainguides.com/, Rick Marchant - http://www.bmg.org.uk/index.php/eng/Members/Guides-K-M/Rick-Marchant, or Andy Perkins - http://andypmountainguide.com/ for starters. All get my recommendation...

Not sure you'll get availability, but if the options above don't work, try http://www.vertigoguides.com

I've only used Matt but Jon is equally highly recommended.

Andy00, if you are only there for 2 days not sure you need a guide. I did the same 2 dayer last weekend, day 1 morning up on La Balme in the trees, afternoon Grand Montets, day 2 GM also, great pow under the lift, mid to top station.......it's snowed since then so you'll be fine.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much
