Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boots for the wider foot?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for boots for me. Currently I have a pair of Tecnica Vento 80s, which are no longer suitable for my sort of skiing. They are a 29.5 and fit like a glove. I usually wear UK12 shoes. Any ideas on models with a last of 104mm+?
Wanting ideas so I know what to look for when I eventually travel to a couple of bootfitters.
Cheers,
Al

Head Vector is a good one if they still do it.

Go see a good fitter and let them do their job and tell you what works for you, don't go in with a view of what you want.

Cheers for the replies, as said before I will be visiting a fitter in the near future, just wanted to see what was about.

allybrown360, what's your sort of skiing, body weight and height also useful

there are not a lot of boots in stiffer flexes (i assume that is what you are looking for) in 104mm last, the live ft is one but even in the 120 flex it is pretty soft and not a great performance boot

difficult to say without seeing your foot, but there are a whole load of 100mm + lasts that can be stretched out to accommodate width of a foot, the most important part is to get the back of the foot solid and make the front wider as required, if you go out looking for something to fit the forefoot then the heel will probably be pretty sloppy

hope that helps

Badgerpig, the vector is a 101mm (the 103mm which is advertised is in a 27/27.5 as opposed to 26/26.5 that other manufacturers list their last sizes) but it stretches quite well

I have opted for a Solomon X Max and had them heated and stretched by a Pro fitter, PERFECT for me.
