Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

when does a ski jumper becomes a Christmas jumper ?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I wear my old style dale jumper quite a lot at home when the cold sets in.
But on a recent outing of Christmas pressie buying I noticed lots of fairisle, Norweigen and other similar grotesquely weaved woolens, the sort of which I proudly wear, on sale !. Alongside these were a selection of garments adorned with Santa's, reindeer or snowmen, all of which I was told was this years in thing and the must have novelty present. The Christmas sweater !
So, the saying that if you wore it first time round you shouldn't wear it now, rings in my head and I wonder if I should hide the dale away until this fad passes, look like a sad old follower of fashion who still thinks hes in his 20 s or hold my head high and stroll down the high st knowing I'm a gnarly old skier from a bygone era and well ahead of the rag trade.

We had Christmas jumper day at work last week. Mine is a dark blue 'fair isle' type with snowflakes and SKIERS on it… Very Happy

Mine has a skiing Santa but he has no poles and is very much in the back seat. Smile

How much do you care about what other people think? Come January, all the garish acrylic £12 Primarni jumpers with Christmas puddings on will be adorning charity shop windows, where as you'll be nice and warm for another 20 years in your Dale! It's a classic.

I have a fair isle Icelandic knit (not Christmassy, just traditional) and I suspect you'll have to tear it from my back in spring. I won't be giving it up for fashion.

The kids got Christmas jumpers earlier this month and have lived in them and had loads of positive comments on them. Me? I don't have a Christmas jumper, but I do have a nice genuine Norwegian design knit upstairs that I could press into service if I wanted to.

queen bodecia, +1... yes... I wish that too. I have too woolly jumpers, one St James shoulder buttoned and a patched woolly pully, I am kicking myself not to have opted for either or this morning.
