Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

About 20cms of fresh here today, with temperatures below zero so we're talking snow not rain in the city.

I rode Cypress, where they have two lifts running because there's not been much snow since early season. They have a good artificial base on piste, but off piste is obviously thin - you can see the Alders (so we're talking 30cm cover, not 300cm). Lift tickets are discounted. It's not "white strip" stuff by any means - today I was riding fresh snow on top of the base, and Alders aside the mountains are white. Just.

It snowed in the night (15cms at the airport this morning and still coming down heavily), and then through to about 14:00. That's the first decent dump for some weeks here. Whistler got the same system.

Think whistler got less than the n. shore. Had about 10 to 15cms at our place
I was on Grouse Wednesday (not skiing) and it was looking very thin. Needs sustained storms which have been missing so far this year - though then that will lead to some "interesting" snowpack considering the long cold dry period.

Btw it's still the 20th wink

Of course you're right - my computer was still on UK time so it was way ahead there.

Driving north from Vancouver the roads were fairly clear. The Coquihalla was "packed powder", with maybe 10 vehicles on their roofs or otherwise trashed driving north. There was more and more snow as I drove further north. Kamloops (Sun Peaks) probably has 25cms of fresh, a little more further north.

Avalanche stability is good (5 on a scale of 1-7, with 7 being stupidly safe). Temperatures -15 or so, perfect powder time.
