Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The worst newspaper when it come to weather related news stories. They border on total scaremongering and something really needs to be done about it. They can't just make strories up and lie like they constantly do.

Indeed, it is, after all, the Daily Excess we're talking about here. some people just have no sense of heritage, its that cosy feeling of "uhoh here we go again".

Latest from the met office - looks like I'll be OK flying out on 22nd from Gatwick.

"UK Outlook for Friday 20 Dec 2013 to Sunday 29 Dec 2013:

It is likely to remain generally unsettled, often windy and rather mild at first across much of the UK, with showers or longer spells of rain and a continuing risk of severe gales, mainly affecting parts of the north and west. There will also be some colder, clearer and showery spells interspersed, with showers likely to turn wintry over higher ground in the north and also some overnight frosts during clearer periods. Through the following week, conditions look set to remain unsettled, with further spells of wet and windy weather expected and some heavy rain at times. The north and west are most likely to see the wettest and windiest weather. It should still be mild, however there will be colder and showery interludes, and these are more likely later."

If they mention vantage weather services, then you can pretty much ignore the forecast as being scaremongering. The Express uses them a lot. The other one you'll see is Exacta Weather

Only way there'll be snow there is if there's a mass of northerly/easterly cold air, then the storm coming off the Atlantic that'll make it 12C and gales in Kent dumps a load of precipitation before the Midlands gets a chance to warm up.
(going by yr.no) Still a week or so out yet, so anything can happen. Full moon soon?

feef, those are exactly the two mentioned in the November article
Can't get any info off Exacta coz you gotta pay.
Vantage seems to be free, but if you read the blurb carefully you realise thay are totally hedging their bets. Any mention of cold and snow is quickly followed by rain and mild.
I'll stick with tea-leaves and grandpa's lumbago.

The 12C and gales have turned into cold and wet and a fresh breeze now on yr.no.

Can save €100 now and book a ferry instead of tunnel.

Looks very wet and windy out to Chritsmas and beyond, but too mild for any significant snow below the tops.
