Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

This is good news, I noticed in the summer they were widening the track, it could be a nightmare with ruts, especially in he dark. I guess some will think this wrong.

jbob, how often is there enough snow, bashing or no bashing. Last year was the first time I'd done it in 7 admittedly sporadic seasons...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I wonder whether that means they will put/produce snow on the lower half to make it more predictable?

22 dropout, I don't think that will happen. The ski out is only an option to the train down. A walk at the end is common anyway.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We went past the stairs to the gondola up station, skied off the end of the glacier and hiked up (200m) to the track down to the town back in April. Having read the link, it doesn't look like this is the bit that will get pisted. Though it was a right old mission, involved a lot of sweat and cursing on the hike up and some walking at the end I felt really pleased with myself!

Thinking about it, if they start to bash it, the track will last much longer than it does now. They could stash a few piles along the track. Perty, I think the bit they are going to do is only as far as the little buvett on the ridge at the most. We were there end of Oct, and they had done a lot of preparation work, I thought at the time what on earth they were doing it for, I guess wrongly it was something to do with the train. The VB is a real money spinner.
