Anyone know who provides the info for the snow report on Sky News? I've just seen the report and for Tignes it says 20% of the pistes are open and conditions on the glacier are excellent. Having skied today in Tignes it's more like 80% of the pistes are open and piste conditions are excellent across the entire ski area.

Even that doesn't seem accurate. Do they mean 12 out of 60 lifts are open, the rest closed?

The Val D site says 16/43 lifts open in the Tignes area so it's obviously not entirely straightforward.

I always find skiplan.com have the best live info - it is live though so no good now as they're all closed for the day of course

Indeed, so many blue jackets around the place. Saw one group today being made to slash sideways across the Tommeuses bumps by their coach. Very nice of them to help fill in some of the deep troughs for us

Almost On Topic, the BBC World Ski Weather Report (if you can view it) gives a much expanded look at conditions in various countries and resorts and expected forecasts. The closing credits clearly state the resort info is provided by the SCGB.
