Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

3V's Lift Passes...

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

Travelling as part of a group of 5 to Meribel 25th January for 2 weeks. Never skied the 3V's before and am just wondering whether it would be best to book the ski passes before we go through the tour operator, or get them out there? Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Mark

Mark4336, there is a discount for groups of 3 or more buying the same pass (local or full area) for the same number of days. See here http://www.les3vallees.com/en/pass-tribu.323/ - compare what your TO is selling them at (presumably in £) against the direct price and weigh up the convenience of having them ready for you (that's the hope/plan anyway) and having to collect them from the lift pass office on your first day. Make sure the TO price reflects the discount too

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Is the TO offering a discount? Have you been on line and looked at the deals 262 each on a tribe pass for 3 valleys or 217 for the Meribel valley.

The TO (Inghams) was only offering 6 day passes, no deals on a 13 day. I have seen a price match on their website. 13 day tribe passes are coming out at about £460. Seems expensive, but it has been a while since I skied France. If the TO can match that and save the hassle of queuing on the first morning then it makes sense.

Mark4336, I was searching the same option and my TO (or provider of accomodation only) actualy gave me a price of EUR 249 instead of EUR 277 (or EUR 262) for a 6 days pass. I would imagine two week's pass would be less expensive, in the region 15-20% from the official price of 277. Jus ask your TO to 'try harder' Smile

mooney058 Are you sure you haven't been quoted the "senior 65-75 year old" 6 day lift pass price by your TO ?

Sure, I received email promo from the TO, called them and they put 4 lift passes for our group at 249 EUR per person. Most of our group are still half way to 65-75 Smile

To be honest, I did not find particulary exciting - last January in Tignes we got whole Espace Killy pass for 165 EUR instead of 235 EUR I believe

Help please. I see a three person deal on lift passes. Does this mean all 3 people have to ski together or can three people buy a tripass to get discount but then not ski together.

You need to buy the pass at the same time for the same ski area and duration. You get a separate pass each so once you have them you can go your separate ways
