Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Embarrassment for London's mayor Boris Johnson, as traffic figures for the non-skiing ski gondola - the Emirates Air Line - are revealed ...

Quote:
Figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act showed the “Emirates Air Line” service between Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Docks attracted just four Oyster card holders using it more than five times a week, triggering the regular users’ discount.

No surprises there. I used to live in the area (bit further east actually - just past Woolwich) and would regularly WTF at the chosen location. Not only are there already several crossings in that area already (Blackwall Tunnel, DLR, Jubilee Line, heck even the Greenwich foot tunnel) but it didn't even GO anywhere interesting. Even going to Excel would have been slightly more useful. Especially infuriating when there is a huge dearth of river crossings to the East.

There's talk of building another road crossing. Guess where <sigh> Boris can't look any further East than Greenwich it seems.

Still, the cable car is fun as a novelty. Just a bit of an expensive one, all things considered!

New crossing announced today between Chelsea Harbour and Battersea...a location that's only 0.8 miles from either Battersea or Wandsworth bridges as it is!

I know the Thames is narrower so it's easier down that end, but, but..

Poor East London!! Rough end of the stick as always.
