Snow Reports

Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I like the idea of this 3rd person view mount :
http://www.thirdpersonview.com/
but don't like that it would prevent the wearing of a rucksack.
I have a design in mind for a combined 3rd person mount and rucksack OR a rucksack compatible 3rd person mount.
Anyone think it might have legs as a product?

Yeah it would be popular, lots of ghetto rigs floating about. I made one to shoot this timelapse:

I improved it last year but never bothered using it.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Some people have cobbled together similar things in the past for use with rucksacks... take a look at this, about a minute in:

It isn't obvious how it was attached, and I'm too lazy to search the interwebs to see where this was discussed when it first came out. Other people have tried similar things, apparently, but found that keeping the camera from wobbling too much was the challenging bit. Clearly alternate gopro mounts are in these days (look at the new gopro trailer itself) so I'm sure there are people out there who'd buy it
Good luck

There have been quite a lot of ski vids with people using 3rd person "stalks" behind them. I thought they were a commercial product - a bendable but reasonable rigid stem rising from the shoulders (like a gorilla bendable tripod) Thought you could probably design a decent one with a mounting plate that slid in the back of a backpack and run the stalk out through the water bladder hole (or cut a new one)
