Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Do January sales for ski equipment exist?

I need some new boots and was wondering whether it's worth waiting until after christmas to see if thing get a bit cheaper. Seems like it might be wishful thinking for something like boots at pretty much peak season but just thought i'd ask.

Usually the sales start after the Feb half term plus the problem with boots is many places buy their stock late summer so even by Jan choice is getting limited and the chance of the fitter having a boot to suit your foot much less.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

el nombre, I would look now to get the best choice. Stock levels even in the bigger stores are often not as great as you might think.

el nombre, chrisb, +1. Once the season is underway, the sales don't really appear until after February. Some good deals at the moment.

There won't be a sale in January; your best chance for a deal is either now (last seasons stock just getting dusted off) or in March. But if you end up not finding a boot that fits later in the year it will be false economy. I'd look now and ask around for older stock if possible. I got a great pair of boots at this time of year at a slight discount because they were the previous season's colour (the design was identical in every way).
