Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! My new boots are basically the same sole length as my old ones but I thought I'd have a look at the bindings anyway. The odd thing with these bindings (actually Tyrolia on the speed adjustment rail) is that they don't seem to have any adjustment for forward pressure. According to the manual you just set the sole length and that's it. Anyone know if I'm missing something? There are two metal tangs protruding from the rear of the rear binding that have markings on them but even deliberately setting an incorrect sole length doesn't seem to change them.

There's a couple of versions of this binding.

One version has fairly large boot length increments (10mm IIRC) in the rail so the fine adjustment in the heel is done by raising the metal tangs to unlock the heel from it's lower track so it can be moved fore/aft in approx. 5mm increments to set the forward pressure. The forward pressure is correct when the rear of the heel housing is within the scribed lines on the tangs when the boot is installed. Anywhere within the lines is ok but the near the centre the better.

The other version (which I've not personally seen other than in the tech manual) apparently has a lot finer boot length adjustment in the rail (I'm assuming in 5mm increments) & the heel is locked in the rail. The forward pressure indicator works exactly as above but you just adjust the rail length to set it correctly as opposed to the heel only. Sounds like you have this version.
