HI all, I hope I have put this in the right forum.
I will be arriving by train in Bourg St Maurice at 2020 on the 14th of December and am staying at Tignes le Lac. Trouble is the last bus up is at 1800 and I have no way to get there.
Can anyone recommend another way/bus or is anyone happy to share a taxi?
Thanks, Donald

Try the local transfer companies to see if they can help - add you to part full bus - snowstartransfers.co.uk or coolbus.co.uk as a starter.

Try Europetransfer too 0 based in Val d'Isere but covers Tignes too

Hitching tends to work much better in the Alps than elsewhere. You just need to hope they are going to Tignes not Val or La Ros so you don't spend 30mins standing by the dam!

Quite a few companies put their empty seats on our site now. It is usually fairly last minute from Bourg though as it is a short journey. As said it is worth adding your dates to our database so companies can email you if something comes up. http://www.findtransfers.com/

Thanks for the replies folks. The problem is that I dont get to Bourg until 830pm and I am being quoted €80 for a one way taxi ride.
I know a lot of the transfer buses stop at the station in Bourg and wonder if I can come to an arrangement with a driver?
How easy is it to hitch from Bourg to Tignes?

If you are on your own and don't have too much kit then relatively easy - but stand somewhere very well lit.

Thanks, I will have a pair of skis and holdall with my stuff in it. I don't want to spend hours trying to hitch but might give it a go.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

not difficult generally, I'd say (I give lifts to hitch-hiking skiers sometimes) but it'll be dark, which won't help. If nothing comes of the useful suggestions from Dia_FindTransfers travel light, make yourself a nice big sign saying "Tignes" (and maybe which bit) and give it an hour before resorting to an expensive taxi.

Wow, that really would be good and very much appreciated and I will of course pay you for any costs. I'll wait til Wednesday before booking a taxi/making a hitching sign.
Thanks, Donald

Hi Stewart Woodward,
Sorry to push you but I wonder if you might be in the area and able to kindly offer a lift?
