Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Who for? What are you wanting from the holiday? I've been to both areas and they feel very different.

Via lattea - italian feel, good mountain huts at reasonable cost, cruisy runs which are mostly quiet even at half term or easter (although weekends are busier with the Turin invasion). If staying on the Italian side, much of the area reasonably well linked, but to get to Claviere and french Montgenevre, its a long slow series of lifts, down as well as up. Sauze is a moderately lively resort to stay in, all other resorts range from sleepy to silent. Saying that, there is ice skating, skidoo, etc on offer.

Portes du Soleil - french in feel, busier pistes, some good mountain huts but slightly pricer than VL, cruisy runs although a bit more tough stuff on offer compared with VL. Morzine is a good place to stay to access much of the runs, but the Les Gets area is a bit out on a limb, and to 'do' the full circuit does require some walking between lifts across a village or buses. More in the way of apres available, especially in morzine. Les gets is more family orientated. Can't comment on what the other french/swiss resorts are like.

Neither resort is going to have good guaranteed snow as easter is so late this year...so I'd say half term would be best.
