Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski boots for tall women

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have a problem with the width and height of ski boots as I am 1.78 m with narrow feet foot size European 39 to 40. Does anyone have any experience of ski boot designs that have female fit with taller heights and variable foot widths. Men's boots can be good for the height but the width is useless my feet just slop about in the space and I have to buckle to boots so tightly it is uncomfortable. I have now tried all sorts of boots so suggestions welcome.

Go to a reputable boot fitter. If you let the Snowheads know where you are, I'm sure there will be some recommendations. I find Salomon boots to have a narrow fitting, or there are other options such as vacuum moulding, or specialist fitted liners which may help

Czuniga, most manufacturers make a narrow boot in the sizes you are looking for, most important thing is one that fits your foot shape and if you are tall with long levers (legs) you need a more upright boot so that you don't walk /ski around all day in a "Z" shape as you are flexed too far forward at the ankle

most mens and womens boots are the same last (width) though, so you may not have been looking in the right places, the normal differences are they make the womens boots in a different colour, lower the cuff by 10-15mm and slap a bit of fur round the liner

find a boot fitter rather than a boot seller, it will make all the difference

Maybe a narrow race boot, the junior ones for teens have much lighter flexes. But I'm a bloke with slim ankles and I went for a foam fitted liner with my last boots. That really does make a difference. A good boot fitter will discuss options.
