Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Survey To Fill In On Price of Lift Tickets For Children Around The World

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm currently in the midst of the thrilling process of collecting numbers from 1,000 ski areas around the world on the ages they ask kids to pay for lift tickets (well, their parents to p[ay for them obviously), and then the age at which they ask children to pay adult prices, and all the various teen and family discounts, and the prices themselves. So far I've got a range, at age 4 or 5 for example, from zero to over 200 Euros for a 6 day kids ticket, depending on where you go. I've been commissioned to compile the numbers and compile a study so by a large international ski organisation with the objective of highlighting best practice in the hope of making skiing more affordable for families (well, you never know...). I'm doing a lot of number crunching but I've also compiled a short survey and would be grateful if anyone with experience/views on the subject with a few minutes spare has time to completer it - seven quick multi choice questions and the chance to comment if you wish, all anonymous. I've not done one of these surveys before but hopefully it (1) works (2) is impartial. I know there's a lot more to family ski holidays than just the cost of the child lift ticket but that's what the focus is of this study. Link is here, completion deadline in November 23rd, 2013: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/W8B3SX5

Done. I would suggest you are a bit more specific about what you mean by children. Do 2 yr olds count. For instance.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Many thanks for filling it in and for the tip - I'll see if I can edit the thing! I'm going at it from the modern era view of childhood being aged from birth to 18 years, rather than the various travel trade/ski industry price bands. Some resorts do offer discounts to age 18 or even 21, though most stop somewhere between 11 and 15.

As I've always moaned about child discounts (particularly for single parents) I've done it. It's a bit too simplistic though for the reasons you've stated.

Done. I have liked the new system in the 3 valleys where a family of four all pay child rate for a six day ticket. But I would say that as we are a family of four and without this offer my eldest child would now have to pay adult prices.

Some areas have different age ranges, child, adolescent and adult for example.
