Poster: A snowHead
|
Hello,
Going round in circles trying to decide where to go at the start of Jan with the wife - wondered if anyone had any thoughts, requirements are:
- Fairly nice hotel
- close to slopes
- nice village with good places to eat
- good intermediate and advanced skiing
- quite fancy Austria
Appreciate any thoughts and if any of you apartment owners want to direct me to your offerings self catering is an option!
Thanks
James

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

j4meseaton, wait until the 11th then all the Russians have gone home and the slopes and restaurants will be quieter (and cheaper)
I stayed at the Appartmenthaus Aschaber in Westendorf last year and would recommend them. The resort has lovely character and great restaurants and the ski area is fantastic (given decent snow)
They're s/c obviously and while we didn't really eat in at all, it's nice to have so much space to yourself and a fridge full of beer

provenjohn, indeed, but there'd have been a few acid comments if somebody had suggested a French resort.

Seriously - Bad Hofgastein would be a good choice, ticks all the boxes re - your criteria. Best avoiding anything french as most of them are concrete monstrosities (with the odd exception) - that should put a cat amongst the pidgeons
