Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Where to go 4th or 11th of Jan 2014

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello,

Going round in circles trying to decide where to go at the start of Jan with the wife - wondered if anyone had any thoughts, requirements are:

- Fairly nice hotel
- close to slopes
- nice village with good places to eat
- good intermediate and advanced skiing
- quite fancy Austria

Appreciate any thoughts and if any of you apartment owners want to direct me to your offerings self catering is an option!

Thanks

James

j4meseaton, wait until the 11th then all the Russians have gone home and the slopes and restaurants will be quieter (and cheaper)

I stayed at the Appartmenthaus Aschaber in Westendorf last year and would recommend them. The resort has lovely character and great restaurants and the ski area is fantastic (given decent snow)

They're s/c obviously and while we didn't really eat in at all, it's nice to have so much space to yourself and a fridge full of beer Toofy Grin

The OP said "quite fancy Austria", he didn't say "must be Austria"! NehNeh

Seriously - Bad Hofgastein would be a good choice, ticks all the boxes re - your criteria. Best avoiding anything french as most of them are concrete monstrosities (with the odd exception) - that should put a cat amongst the pidgeons Toofy Grin
