(btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How much off piste are we talking? if your looking for something 80/20 piste to off check out something like an atomic crimson http://www.snowtraxstore.co.uk/atomic-crimson-ti-arc-ski-xto14-binding-2014 holds its own on the piste yet a bit more width for expoloring. another great one I think is the black crows orb http://www.snowtraxstore.co.uk/black-crows-orb-ski-2014 tonnes of grip on the piste but 90mm under foot to provide the float (this is pretty much my perfect piste ski)

1969jma, Enduro XT 800 is the direct Salomon replacment might be worth a look, similar tot he Crimson and Titan above.
