Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The American ski biz gets serious (?) about climate change (snow depletion)

A few striking quotes in this interesting piece by Mary Catherine O'Connor for OutsideOnline.com ...

Three Major Ski Resort CEOs Talk Climate Change
http://www.outsideonline.com/adventure-travel/adventure-ethics/Three-Major-Ski-Resort-CEOs-Talk-Climate-Change.html?229154291&utm_campaign=googlenews&utm_source=googlenews&utm_medium=xmlfeed

"... cold winters are becoming as rare as monoskis" [well the author probably didn't write that - it's an editorial strap]

"We have some routes on the mountain that are only manufactured snow." [CEO, Jackson Hole]

"... research over several decades has shown 1.5- to 2-percent declines in snow in spring in North America, per decade. That might not sound like a precipitous change, but Nolin said this will translate into real losses for ski resorts at lower elevation and those in the warm ranges of the Pacific Northwest."

"... in Whistler Blackcomb ... a retreating glacier boundary is a stark summertime reminder of what the industry is losing ..."

But are these industry experts missing the real issues here?
