Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski school Saalbach

We are off to Saalbach at the end of Feb 2014 - yey! We've been to Saalbach before but not with the children so I am looking for some advice on ski schools.

We have 2 daughters - the youngest will be a week off her 4th Birthday and the oldest will have just turned 6. The 6 year old has been once before but didn't really take to it so we want to start her as a beginner again in the same group as her younger sister. The youngest is very confident and I have been in touch with the Ski Academy school who are happy to start her off in normal ski school and move her to a younger age group if she struggles.

I can see from the websites the learn to ski areas and prices etc but for peace of mind I was wondering about the staffing levels and the level of care they would receive e.g managing trips to the loo in all that clothing, making sure they have a drink etc! I know this is such a Mum thing but this is their first time in proper ski school and I just wanted to hear some experiences of those who have used ski schools in Saalbach. Thanks!

I can only speak for Fuerstauer Ski School (who I used to work for), but they have loads of excellent kids instructors (usually dutch and danish girls, but they all speak perfect english) and all that stuff is taken care off. €10 in the kids' pockets in the morning to cover lunch and a hot chocolate in the afternoon; they eat as a group with the instructor who helps with ordering stuff and making sure everyone is properly fed.

Same at the Snowacademy - lots of kids instructors who are well-versed in the logistics of loo-breaks, chocolate stops etc. Their kids' area is next to the Alpinresort hotel, which is owned by the same chap who owns the ski school, so the kids groups all troop in there for their breaks.

quinton, cheers, I like the look of the Snow Academy as they also have a creche in case the youngest gets tired. Plus the kids ski area looks extensive.
