Interesting one about heated boot racks damaging custom insoles. I've never had a problem with this, has anyone else

How do men’s and women’s boots differ?
All women’s boots feature lower cuffs (to accommodate shapely calves) and a greater ramp angle – the heel is raised to help get weight forward as women’s centre of mass tends to be set slightly further back than men’s.
What are they implying?

I'm pretty sure S+R have some half decent bootfitters. Unfortunately most punters who rock up on a Saturday morning 1 month before they go away aren't going to find them.

Yes, but sustained use over an extended period of time on a commercial boot rack.

I had boots from Ellis and thought they were fine until my third week in a season and my feet ached over frozen piste or snow plough lumps.
I now have boots from profeet that are great. No issues at all though its a trek to london

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

fatbob, spot on, same with the other big chains, couldn't ask for a better fit than the boots EB at Tamworth spent most of a morning fitting me with, and actually some of the article is pretty sensible! Wonder why the Telegraph have felt the need to lock out comments though?

Filthyphil30k, why would your iPhone think that carafe was a more used word than average. Interesting.
As for boots, the colour is the most important thing.

Bode Swiller, I know, weird, .
I know colour is the most important thing, and how shiny but some people in here have old scuffed boots and can ski quite well.

Most ladies I know who could be "put into the back seat" have inbuilt compensation to help counterbalance matters.

But "carafe skier" is soooooo much a better and more useful terminology than "average"
I think it probably describes me on my ski trips far more effectively than "average skier" does
Possibly "another carafe please" might be a bit more accurate
