Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bishop Telemark Binding 2.0 arrives this season

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
It looks like the Bishop binding is re-starting production in a modified form as the Bishop 2.0, see this

Quote: "Dave Bombard acquired the rights to the Bishop telemark binding from Fin, the owner of Bomber Industries and inventor of the binding, at the end of 2012. Fin and Dave, both mechanical engineers, had partnered together for a few years developing some cool new gear - while keeping their day jobs. In late 2012, they decided to spin off the Bishop into a separate business that Dave would head, re-introducing the Bishop telemark binding and developing new products."

I've not tried the previous Bishop Telemark binding, but since it is a plate type (like the Skyhoy binding I currently use) I expect it will have excellent lateral and torsional rigidity.

Re: Bishop Bindings

I took a couple of runs on a pair back about 6-7 years ago. They do in fact rail turns, a very solid connection to the ski. However, they affected my bellows flex in a way that gave me wicked toe crunch, so I couldn't wait to get off them. That may have been more the fault of the boots than the binding, of course.

They are expensive and heavy, but they are also beautifully machined and appear to be rock-solid. They definitely have a cult following, as used pairs regularly sold for full MSRP long after they went out of production. Definitely more lift-oriented than BC.

Great news. Was sad when they stopped producing. Bomb proof bit off kit.
