Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

When do discounts on UK hotel and flight packages appear in numbers?

I have early brochures and I know the familiar options. Prices are more than I paid last year a few weeks before departure.

Chalets is easy. Companies are committed and have to shift all spaces. There are always places at the last minute.

With hotels they may not have an obligation to fill a room.

Anyway, there must be experts on here who pay close attention to prices over the years, so when will cheaper offers appear in earnest? Does not have to be a particular hotel or resort.

I have DIY' ed with separate airline and hotel booked direct in the past.

If you can be flexible about departure dates, resorts and departure airports there are always bargains to be had, if need to go for a particular week leaving it late is risky.

Don't expect discounting over new year, xmas or half term, know many flights already full over these periods

The week before Is a great time for catered chalets. Just ring them up direct and ask what is the best price they can offer. If it isn't good enough try the next one!

Thanks. Not looking for peak period so no problem there. Would like to have the last week of January though.

Not interested in chalets.

I think operators own websites may be the best bet. That is how it worked out last season anyway.

We are normally late bookers but this year we booked in june for a week in jan and paid 600, same hotel is now over 900 for the same week. have stayed there several times and it was a no brainer when we saw the price.
our week in feb will probably be a late deal though - just depends what comes up price wise.
