Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How easy is it to get to St Anton from Salzburg Airport?

Easy. 3 hours on a direct train from Salzburg Hbf (main station). You need to take the trolleybus or a taxi from the airport to the main station - takes about 20 minutes.

Check out the OEBB route planner (in English) at http://fahrplan.oebb.at/bin/query.exe/en

The stations that you need are Salzburg Hbf and St Anton am Arlberg. NB The timetable only currently goes up until early December 2013 - the new timetable is released then.

It's pretty straightforward. The station in St Anton is only a few minutes stroll from the centre of town and Austrian trains are generally very comfortable. I've done the journey many times. Worth checking return times and flights, depending who you are travelling with it might be worth getting the train back the night before and staying the last night in Salzburg.

cool, thanks, i am looking at this or Inssbruck. Think both will need a stopover on last night. Munich is a possibility too.

Yup, as ClaudeB says, also look at Zurich. I've used it a few times when getting to/from the Arlberg. Can either train it (one change at Zurich Hauptbahnhof) or take the Arlberg Express coach from the Airport direct to St Anton.

Hi KB. Have you seen the SkiRail Map of the Alps?
Shows 400+ resorts across the Alps with lots of information on the 120 which are accessible by train (so including St Anton).
More info here http://rogerlascellesmaps.co.uk/SkiRail_Map_Main.aspx?area=Ski_Rail_Map_of_the_Alps
As others have said, it is indeed pretty easy from Zurich, Innsbruck or Saltzburg, or even Friedrichshafen.
