Don't know a lot about Glacier Skiing. At some stage would like to Ski maybe in November and pictures of Stubai Glacier have caught my eye. Unfortunately I like to ski blues but looking at the piste map for Stubai it seems to have a few blues.
Just wondering would you recommend it.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Looking on the piste map there is blue option under most of the lifts.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

most pistes on glaciers tend to be of the easier variety. I've only every visited tignes and saas fee in november though so not sure what the area is like.
you can normally get some good deals though

Stubai is great in several ways! Been there 2 years ago and love it.
1) affordable;
2) lots of pistes and levels, plenty of blues, greens reds;
Since the terrain is very large at some slopes you'll find a green side-by-side with a blue groomed one, side of a not groomed blue.
3) November should be great. Of course the weather matters. But take a look at the web cams you'll find few pistes opens right now.
With a good snow it's possible to run down from the top(3000m) to the very bottom (car parking) on a long 14km run. Amazing!
Keep in mind most of the hotels are located on the Valley, 20 to 30 minutes before Stubai (Melfes, Fulpmes, Neustift) By car. There's bus all day long, but I'm not sure for Nov.
If you are going to rent your skis or taking class, give try Olympia at Neustift, nice people, good equipment and affordable prices.

eddiethebus, I suggest you take a look at the Rettenbach Ice Wall when they show the opening races from Sölden at the end of next month and revise your opinion a wee bit. As you admit to having visited only 2 glaciers, perhaps you should leave the sweeping statements and generalisations until you have a wider knowledge base to use as your yardstick.

Seems a bit of a harsh response for you SS . Had you had a bad day?? You don't need to actually visit lots of glaciers to know that his statement is factually correct - maybe he's read on here about the general characteristics of glacier skiing?

mountainaddict, No, actually I'd had a really good day at the Oktoberfest. Maybe I'm just sick and tired of people making silly statements!

Layne, again a supposition based on a fallacy! I drink alcohol-free beer because I have to drive! Never mind carry on ruminating!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

It's a great place ski. Plenty of intermediate skiing. Good lift system. You can ski blues down to the middle station, but don't attempt the rest of the way down unless you are a good skiier.
If you're renting you can do so from Intersport at the middle station and you'll be able to leave it all there overnight. Ski bus is free with a lift pass.
The other bonus is how close Neustift/ Fulpmes are to Innsbruck airport. Even so, a taxi will be 50 euros.

Bus will be less than 5 to Neustift though Maybe €2 extra from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof though. Not sure how much the tram to Fulpmes costs.
