Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Carte Neige Question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi everyone,

Just in process of buying a season's lift pass and carte neige - does the carte neige insurance only apply to the ski area that the lift pass covers? I am assuming that this is the case and that if we were to ski in other areas (France) we would have to pay for carre neige with the daily pass of that area? Thanks for any clarification as I can't seem to find an answer in the small print that my limited French can translate.

It's valid in most of Europe and definitely all of France.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

loatie, If you're actually talking about Carte Neige, it's valid everywhere. If, on the other hand, you're on about the insurance you buy from the ticket office with your pass (Carré Neige, Assur'Glisse, whatever they're selling) then it's linked to the pass and valid only when you're skiing in the area covered by said pass.

loatie, my understanding is what Lizzard says. I buy mine separately from the pass as it's sold by the Les Saisies ski club, and not obtainable from the lift pass office (they sell Carré Neige which is different, and the right product for someone buying a local 6 day pass). I can never remember which is which (you can tell why I get a - small - reduction for age).

Exciting to be thinking about ski passes again, isn't it?

Lizzard, Thanks - yes, am talking about the Carte Neige - which I can buy on line from the Tourist Office at the same time as I purchase my Season Lift pass. Good to know it will still cover us when skiing in other areas in France.

pam w, Yes, very exciting! Hoping to ski in Les Saisies in January for a day or two so will give you a call.
