My daughter is doing her first race on plastic .
The slope does not have a sprinkler system and if its a dry day will be very sticky .
I know nothing about waxing skis for plastic. So looking for some advice please.
I reckon skis that slide well will have a big advantage as slope is very short .

Mr Sheen, only lasts one run pretty much, but if you're racing and don't mind giving it a skoosh at the top each time, it's worth a shot.

rooski10, Where is she racing? Some slopes have local rules.
Something hard is usually best; I use CH4 and Zardoz on my sons skis and a combination of CH4, 4matt and Zardoz on mine.

Yeh I always used Zardoz notwax at Sheffield. Dryslope racing shouldn't be too serious though, always looks funny to see people tuning away to ski on plastic!

ski, my comment was in relation to ski-racers who bring a tuning bench to the side of the piste and re-tune furiously each run while others were socialising. I spent most of my early skiing life on plastic but could just never take it that seriously. Each to their own.

my youngest did a school competition on a dry slope recently and some of the kids had one pair of skis for the drag lift and then changed them at the top for the run. Personally I am just pleased she had a good time with her friends and came back in one piece.....

If it's just the one race, then use whatever wax you've got hanging around, and then zardoz/MrSheen or similar immediately before the run. But a good clean carved race line will give her a faster speed without any wax compared to taking a wider line with skidded turns however well lubricated the skis.

If it's her first race then the most important is sharp edges -- finishing is a pre-requisite to winning !
